Tattoo Aftercare Instructions

Thank you for choosing us for your new tattoo! Proper aftercare is essential for the best healing and to keep your tattoo looking vibrant. Please follow these instructions carefully.

First 1–3 Days (While Wearing the Tattoo Bandage)

- Your artist has applied a tattoo bandage (a breathable, protective second-skin film) over your fresh tattoo.

- Leave the tattoo bandage on for 1–3 days maximum. Everyone heals differently, so the exact time depends on how much your tattoo weeps. Weeping (fluid, blood, and plasma under the bandage) is completely normal.

- If you experience excessive irritation, redness, or discomfort, remove the tattoo bandage and contact us immediately.

- You will be provided with a free sample of Potion Lotion, our own natural aftercare lotion, to use once the bandage is removed.

For Clients with Adhesive Allergies

- If you have an allergy to adhesives, please let your artist know before your session.

- We will provide you with Inkbeetle, a natural liquid bandage that dries into a protective film.

- It typically lasts up to 12 hours and can be easily removed in a warm shower with water.

- Follow the same cleaning and moisturizing steps as listed below.

Removing the Tattoo Bandage (After 1–3 Days)

- The best way to remove the bandage is in a warm shower. The warm water loosens the adhesive, making it easier and less painful to peel off.

- Gently lift an edge and pull slowly in the direction of your hair growth.

- Once removed, wash the tattoo gently with soap and warm water.

- Pat dry with a clean towel and let your tattoo air dry completely before applying lotion.

Important: Do not use petroleum-based products (such as Vaseline) on your tattoo.

If the Tattoo Bandage Comes Off Early

- If your tattoo bandage falls off before 24 hours and the tattoo is still weeping, protect it with a clean, regular bandage to keep bacteria out.

- Change the regular bandage at least twice a day.

- Clean the tattoo 1–2 times daily (or as needed) with soap and warm water.

- Always allow it to air dry before applying lotion.

Ongoing Care (After Bandage Removal)

- Keep your tattoo moisturized to prevent excessive drying and scabbing, which can damage the ink even in the later stages of healing.

- Apply Potion Lotion (or another unscented, natural tattoo balm/oil) as needed throughout the day. A thin layer is all you need.

- Continue gentle cleaning 1–2 times daily with soap until fully healed (usually 2–3 weeks).

- Avoid soaking the tattoo (no baths, swimming, or hot tubs) and keep it out of direct sunlight during the healing process.
