Piercing Aftercare
Daily Cleaning Routine
Wash hands thoroughly with warm water and antibacterial soap before touching or cleaning your new piercings.
Spray the front and back of each piercing 2–3 times daily with sterile saline spray for the first 2-3 weeks.
Gently pat dry around the area using a clean, disposable paper towel or non-woven gauze. Avoid cloth towels, which can harbor bacteria and snag jewelry.
Key Do’s and Don’ts
Do NOT twist or rotate the piercing; moving it damages delicate healing tissue and introduces bacteria.
Leave initial jewelry in place for the full healing period (typically 6–8 weeks minimum for ear lobes, cartilage and surface piercings are 5-6 months) before changing jewelry.
Avoid submerging your piercings in pools, hot tubs, lakes, or baths during the initial healing window.
Sleep carefully: Try to sleep on your back, or use a travel/donut pillow to avoid putting direct pressure on your piercing.
Keep irritants away: Be cautious when applying hairspray, perfume, makeup, or lotions near your piercing.
If you experience excessive swelling, severe pain, heat radiating from the area, or abnormal discharge, contact your piercer or a medical professional promptly.
